It’s nice to meet you!

The Embers Team

FOUNDER | COUNSELOR

Matt Dwight, MS, LMFT

Matt earned Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Family and Human Development at Arizona State University, and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Seminary. He has 10 years of experience in the field of mental and behavioral health, including work with at-risk middle school students and high school ministry. His clinical training includes systems theory approaches such as Solution Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. He is also experienced in family counseling approaches like Emotionally Focused Family counseling and Love and Logic.

Matt believes that a trusting relationship is the foundation for growth, and the same must be true of your counseling relationship. Without this foundation, it is rare that the insights and advice from anyone (including your therapist) will impact you. Matt’s first goal is to build a safe and understanding relationship with each of his clients, from which you can tackle your most difficult challenges together.

FOUNDER | ADMINISTRATOR

Annie Dwight

Annie has a passion for mental, relational, and spiritual health. She has an MA in Theology with an emphasis in Youth, Family, and Culture from Fuller Seminary and currently works as the Women’s Director for the student ministries at Scottsdale Bible Church. With her expertise in caring for teenagers, young adults, and youth volunteers, she loves having the opportunity to support her husband Matt at Embers. Annie’s goal in working behind-the-scenes is to facilitate your experience with us, and ensure that you have all of the information and resources you need to be successful in counseling. While most of this will happen in the therapy room, she is committed to helping all of the other moving parts run smoothly from start to finish.

COUNSELOR

Kayla Ehling, MFT Intern

Kayla is a graduate student at Fuller Theological Seminary to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Additionally, she has her BA in Psychology from Arizona State University. Her goal is to provide a comfortable space for individuals and families to grow and thrive. Before her studies, she was a lay counselor for the Trauma Healing Institute. Here, she fell in love with walking alongside the hurting and providing a listening ear to those who have deep wounds from past experiences. She also has 5 years of experience leading a group of teen girls in youth ministry.
